Welcome to my Portfolio! Here you’ll find the work that I’ve completed at UNC-Chapel Hill and some of my music production. Apart from being an aspiring music artist, I also have a passion for finance, financial analysis, and all things credit. My level of experience and educational achievement have given me both the skill set and professional background necessary to dive deep into the world of commercial credit underwriting. Feel free to explore and get to know more about me, my passion for music, and my UNC media work!
The Big Transition from a Life in Germany to a Life in the U.S
Born in West Germany, I was raised in a small town near Frankfurt called Aufenau to an African American father and a German mother. There, I grew up in a single-parent household with my mother and sibling, while spending every other weekend with my father enjoying the simple pleasures of life and dabbling into the ventures of music.
In 2006, I completed my high school diploma with a focus on economics and administration at Berufliche Schulen Gelnhausen, Germany. In 2009, I graduated with an associate’s degree in business administration at Ludwig-Erhard Schule. This education also included hands-on training to become a state-certified management assistant in office communication. I completed my training at CPC Unternehmensmanagement AG, and shortly after, I relocated to Richmond, Virginia, to live with my father.
Education has always been a rewarding and enjoyable experience; therefore, in 2014, I decided to further my education by attending John Tyler Community College in Chester, Virginia. I graduated with honors receiving my second associate’s degree in business administration. In 2016, I moved to Concord, North Carolina, after being accepted to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In May 2019, I graduated with a double-major in media and journalism and communications with concentrations in advertising and interpersonal communication.
With an intense desire to learn, I completed my MBA with a focus in Finance at Queens University in Charlotte in December 2022. I am currently employed at Bank of America as a Commercial Credit Underwriter for the Middle Market Financial Sponsors Group.
Singer, Songwriter & Music Producer
Soulful music was an integral part of my environment. While serving in the military, my father also had a successful career as a musician, deeply influencing my passion for music.
At 7, I had my first performance in Germany, capturing the public’s eye. By age 9, with my father’s guidance and experience, I recorded my first song. Throughout my pre-teen years, I won two local competitions and later joined the school band at the age of 14 as one of the lead vocalists.
In 2004, I had the opportunity to perform as Judas in the musical Jesus Christ Superstar at a local community center, which turned out to be a 2-night sold-out performance—making headlines in the local newspaper.
Once in the U.S., I wanted to continue embarking on my journey in music. To this end, my father and I formed Roughcutz Productions, LLC, where I took on the role as President. It allowed me to hone the tools of my trade—mixing, editing, and working the studio equipment to create the Roughcutz sound we were looking for. Our company’s mission is to guide, inspire, and develop creative minds by using all available resources, all while being dedicated to creating a competitive advantage by delivering a quality service to the public and music community alike.
